Using a Computer
- First of all, you'll need speakers and a microphone, or a headset to talk to people.
- I already have this equipment connected to my computer. I'm ready to download communicator.
- I need to get a headset or a microphone, take me to the store.
- Ok now that you've got the equipment you need, you're ready to hook it up.
- I've already connected everything! I'm ready to download communicator.
- Connecting a headset
- The headset will have either two plugs, one for the microphone and one for headphones, or a single USB plug for
both the headphones and the microphone. These plugs can usually be found on the front or side of a laptop and on the front or back of
a desktop. If you have headset with two plugs, the places to plug in the headset on the computer will either be color-coded
(pink for the microphone and black/green for the headphones) or each will be labeled with a microphone
or pair of headphones

Your setup might look like this:
- A headset with a single USB plug can be plugged into any USB port on your computer, as is shown to the right:
- Connecting a microphone and/or speakers/headphones
- Your microphone will plug into the microphone jack on your computer, usually located on the front of a laptop and
on either the front or the back of a desktop. The microphone jack will either be color-coded pink or will be labeled with a little
microphone

- Your speakers or headphones will plug into the headphone jack on your computer, usually located on the front of a laptop
and on the front or back of a desktop. The jack can be identified by either a color-coding of green or black, or a little
picture of a pair of headphones
